What is LEAP?
LEAP is an acronym for Lifestyle, Eating & Performance Therapy. In conjunction with a Mediator Release Test [MRT] food sensitivity test. I sit down with you to customize a healthy eating plan…based on the foods that agree with you.
MRT testing boasts of 92% split-level reliability. If you run the test twice you have a 92% chance of a repeat of the same. This is pretty darn good. The gold standard in food sensitivity testing. Unlike other test, MRT quantifies the inflammation load of 150 common foods and chemicals that are tested.
Who is likely to benefit from this test and why?
Those who are experiencing migraines, crohn’s, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), fibromyalgia, diabetes, GERD, gas, bloating and abdominal distention. Autoimmune, adrenal, thyroid and obesity issues, so on and so forth.
Food sensitivities result from undigested food particles that sit in the digestive tract. This can lead to an imbalance in the gut micro biome in favor of the pathogenic bacteria outnumbering the gut friendly bacteria (which should be roughly 85% favorable and 15% unfavorable).
However, an unfavorable ratio of friendly bacteria (acidoliphilus, bifidus, planetarium so one and so forth) to unfriendly bacteria can potentially, over the long haul, lead to auto-immune issues. As you can see, gut dys-bioses can precipitate bodily symptoms that reach far and wide.
Got Gut Health?
You’ve probably heard the saying that “health begins in the gut?” Tis, true. What is more, approximately 75% of our immune system is found in the gut. In fact, our first line of defense are comprised of that group of friendly bacteria, mentioned above. Thus, when you destroy your friendly microflora (ways: cesarean birth, history of antibiotics, etc.) you also weaken your host defenses.
